#2112 Earnest Lee Dunaway

Funeral services for Earnest Lee Dunaway, 42, were conducted Monday, Jan. 4, 1954, at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Billie Smith and Rev. Tommie Allen officiated.

Dunaway was born June 16, 1911 in Erath County, Texas. He died Jan. 2, 1954 at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo. He was converted early in life and joined the Baptist church. He was married to Naoma Tullis in 19_?44_) at Guthrie and they had lived in Dickens County for nine years.

Surviving him are his wife, one daughter, Earnestine; three stepsons: J.M. of Lubbock, Eldon Ray and Frank F., at home one step daughter, Mary Frances, at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Dunaway of Spur; and one brother, John, of Spur.

Pallbearers were Ray Bostic, David McAteer, Joe Long, Jesse Morrison, Johnnie Hamilton and George Erath.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Mother: Mary Jane "Mollie" Hall
Claud and Willie were married in Albany, TX on Aug 15, 1909. They reared two sons, Earnest L. and John D., and moved to Jayton in 1930. They moved to Spur in 1945. He was a retired farmer and merchant. She was a homemaker.

Obituary

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 1971, for Monroe Claude Dunaway, 79, retired farmer and grocery store owner.

Mr. Dunaway died at the Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Gary Williams, minister of the Highway 70 Church of Christ officiated, assisted by Don Williams, Lubbock.

Mr. Dunaway had lived in Dickens County since 1949. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his wife who died in 1966.

Survivors include one son, John, Crosbyton; two brothers, Homer Dunaway and Wilson Dunaway, both of Mineral Wells; three sisters, Mary Williams, Mineral Wells; Emma Johnson, Santo and Leona O'Bannon, Lulinh, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers included Homer Hill, Bill Dement, J.D. Taylor, Elmer Cross, Travis Hoover and Edd Williams.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.

Obituary

Services for John D. Dunaway, 75, were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday [May 27, 1987] in the Highway 70 Church of Christ with minister, Richard Trull, officiating.

Dunaway died about 12:45 a.m. May 26, 1987 in the Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born December 11, 1911, in Lipan and moved to Dickens County from Jayton in 1944.

A retired grocer, he married Ilene Hoover on November 21, 1936 in Jayton. He was a former member of the Spur Lions Club and the Knights of the Pythias. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Ilene Dunaway, Spur; two sons, Jerry D. Dunaway, Lubbock and Bobby Dunaway, Coppell; four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Eric Swenson, Nig Wyatt, Jimmy Dunaway, Benny Fitzgerald, Loyd Rinehart and Greg Arnold.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services for Geraldene Duncan McKay, 60, of Odessa, wee held Tuesday, May 16, 1995, in Spur Memorial Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Berle McKay of Commerce officiated.

Mrs. McKay died at 7:30 a.m. May 13 in Medical Center Hospital, Odessa following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Miles on October 5, 1934 and had lived in Odessa since 1970. She married Don McKay on April 29, 1979 in Odessa.

She was a delicatessen manager for several years.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Barry Badger of Waco and Gary Gebhardt of Imperio, Kansas; two daughters, Beverly Phelps, Austin and Mary Foos of Topeka, Kansas; one brother, Bill Duncan, Odessa and a sister, June Savage, Sonora; three grandchildren.

STELLA MAE BRANTNER, Age 62, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, January 22, 1994 in Franklin.

She was born on March 16. 1931 in Bald Prairie near Franklin. Stella was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School. She had spent a great portion of her life in Houston and Spring Texas. She was a longtime employee of Gulf Atlantic Warehouse and a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.

Survived by: husband, Johnny Brantner, Franklin, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and James Woodson, Pearland. TX., sons and daughters-in-law. Ricky and Gwen Brantner. Holland, Texas. Russell and Sharon Brantner, Houston. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Rosie Davis. Dobbin, Texas. Ray and Margaret Davis. Houston. Texas. sisters and brothers-in-law, Dean and Thomas Baxter, Bryan, Texas. Fay and E.K. Pruitt. Byran. Texas, and Nell and John Raymond Riley, Bryan, Texas. 5 grandchddren.

Funeral Services: Monday, January 24th. ll:00 a.m. Franklin Church of Christ with Bobby Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in the Bald Prairie Cemetery [Robertson County].

In lieu of flowers. the family request donations be made to local Alzheimer's Chapter.

Valerie G. Azzinnari, 46, of Arlington, formerly of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Mark Killam, pastor of Grace Covenant Church of Arlington, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Azzinnari was born on June 8, 1959, in Amarillo. She graduated from Tascosa High School with the class of 1977. She was a great woman, a wonderful mother and her heart was filled with love for our Lord and Savior. Mama, we will all miss you and your bright smile.

Survivors include her husband, Salvatore; her daughter, Jessica Azzinnari, of Arlington; her mother and stepfather, Barbara and J.L. Kellum of Amarillo; her father and stepmother, E.A. and Beverly Davey of Amarillo; a grandmother, Wilma Hart of Pampa; her mother and father-in-law, Domenica and Salvatore Azzinnari of Nutley, N.J.; and many brothers, sisters, and cousins.

The family requests memorials be sent to Grace Covenant Church in Arlington.
