SCOTT, Charlotta KIRK - Charlotta, wife of Eld. Larkin Scott, died at her home in Bentonville Tuesday, March 26, 1885 at 4 o'clock a.m. with pneumonia, aged 75 years.
Mrs. Scott, who was the daughter of Daniel and Sarah Kirk, was born May 9, 1819 in Daviess Co., Kentucky. She was married to Mr. Larkin Scott April 17, 1836. The result of this union was twelve children, eleven of whom weep over the loss of a devoted mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Scott moved to Dade Co., Missouri in 1840 and then to Benton county, Ark. in 1856 where they have since made their home.
The deceased united with the church of Christ when about 15 years old and for over 60 years lived a consistent christian life.
An aged husband and eleven children survive who have the sympathy of the entire community.
The funeral services and interment took place at the Hart cemetery, four miles south of town [Bentonville], Wednesday afternoon [March 27] at 2 o'clock, Elder Daniels of Rogers conducting the services.

Hart Cemetery MarkerCharlie Kearney
Charlie Simpson Kearney, 73, was killed about 6:45 Monday as he was crossing Highway 70 from his fireworks stand to his home.
He was struck by a pickup driven by Delton Roberts, Spur. He was killed instantly.
Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated. He was assisted by Cleston Pritchett. Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church.
Born in Dallas County in 1893, Mr. Kearney came to Dickens County in 1916 from Snyder. Retired at his death, he had operated a service station in Spur for many years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church; Spur Masonic Lodge, a veteran of World War I and a member of the VFW. He was well known in this area.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Earnest Kearney, Spur; one grandson, Mike Kearney, Lubbock; seven sisters, Mrs. Walter Garrett, Farmington, NM; Mrs. Marvin Alexander, Spur; Mrs. Pearl Wells, Aspermont; Mrs. Jewel Rucker, Aspermont; Mrs. George Reagan, Stroude, Oklahoma; Mrs. Lewel Edmondson, Meeker, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Richard Hyatt, Clarendon.
Pallbearers included Dalton Lehew, Fred Neaves, Jay Austin, Buddy Wright, Tom Fields, Lloyd Hindman, Charlie Witt and Johnny Scudder.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

Ernest Kearney
U.S.Flag Funeral services were held Sunday [24 Aug 1975] at 2 p.m. for Ernest V. Kearney, 54. B.C. Stapleton, Lubbock, officiated, assisted by Bob Wille, Spur.
Services were held in the Spur Church of Christ. Mr. Kearney, work order clerk at Dickens County Electric died [Friday] August 22 in Methodist Hospital. He had been a lifetime resident of Dickens County. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Kearney, Spur and one son, Mike Kearney, Lubbock; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Dalton Lehew, Pat Winkler, Ben Loe, Dwain Green, Bill Hoover and Dennis Lehew.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of Dickens County Electric.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services for "B" (Beatrice) Kidd, 64, were held Friday afternoon [7 Feb] at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur, Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor, officiating.
Born in Stonewall County in 1910, Mr. Kidd died in the Crosbyton Hospital Feb. 6. He was a retired school custodian. He had been a resident of Dickens County since 1921. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nina Kidd, Spur; one son, Don Kidd, Izoro, a daughter, Mrs. Judy Stark, Post; two brothers, Marion Kidd, Portales, NM; and C.H. Kidd, Sutherlin, Oregon; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Levi Meadors, Hester Arnold, Raymond Bailey, Travis Hoover, Marion Jordan, Lawrence Fitzgerald, Willard Williams and Elmer Wright.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
