| One researcher reports: Ambrose owned a mill in Virginia. About 1730 he was named first
Justice of the Courts in Louisa County, Virginia. About 1750 he was appointed Justice of Peace in
Edgecombe County, North Carolina.
The Inventory of Goods and Chattels following Ambrose' death was made May 1763 in Orange County, North Carolina: 1 track land, 450 acres in Orange Co., 640 acres lying in Rowan Co. He apparently lived in Rowan County because the dwelling and furniture described were in Rowan County. Tools and instruments suggest Ambrose was also a surveyor: 2 sets of surveying instruments and a bunch of woodworking tools. Return made by Joseph Boggs, John Spann, (possibly the brother of Judith, Ambrose's wife). Another researcher indicates that Ambrose was killed by Indians. |
| Christopher (the son) married a Miss Buckner. |
| Birth order of children is uncertain. |
