Barbara Breedlove Rollins site. To quote her, "The surname LEWELLEN is also variously spelled
as LLEWELLEN, LLEWELLY, LUELLEN, LUALLEN, LEWELLING, and LUELLING. Members of the family who still
reside in Glamorganshire and Pembrokeshire, Wales, generally use the spelling LLEWELLYN."
I have also elected to use the common surname spelling "Lewellen." |
| John and Nancy were early settlers in Smith County, Texas and were there as early as 1848. Their graves are among the earliest in Wood-Verner Cemetery. |
| Edward married Nancy Simpson 9 Jul 1842 in Effingham Co., IL. She was born 1820 AL and died 1906 in Erath Co., TX. They had three children in Illinois; Edward D, Joseph, & Rowena. Edward (sr.) may have died in Illinois. Nancy apparently accompanied son Edward to Texas - both are buried in Hannibal Cemetery in Erath Co. |
