Samuel Becton Mullen, Sr. is the son of (Unknown) Mullen & Eleanor Beckton.

Three of Samuel Becton Sr.'s children married Guynes cousins:
Celestine married Calvin Washington Guynes, son of Henry Hall Guynes.
Isham Stillamn married Nancy Guynes, daughter of Wyatt Guynes.
William Peterson married Sarah Guynes, daughter of George Ross Guynes.

Mary's name: Sources have both Mary Ann and Mary Elizabeth, based on descendant lore. "US & International Marriage Records, 1560-1900" has Samuel Becton Mullen and Mary Elizabeth Smith. While marriage licenses frequently contain nicknames, I've followed this source.

A number of the older Mullen children migrated to Texas, as did some of the Smith kin: Celestine Parasade, William Peterson, Isham Stillman, Belinda, and Sophronia.

Isham married (1) Nancy Guynes, daughter of Wyatt Guynes & Sarah Thomas, & (2) Nancy Maranda Bass.
