Some sources suggest William Peterson migrated to Texas in 1879, However, source data suggest the move was during 1876-1877. The 1880 Census has son William Simpson born March 1877 in Texas, and Texas is indicated on the later counts thru 1930. The move would have been sometime between the births of Laura and William S. (1874-1877). If the sibling families of Celestine, William, & Mary traveled together, which was likely, they probably left MS after Mary Ann's son, Henry Eugene was born 19 Jun 1876. These births in MS and TX suggest the trip occurred sometime between June 1876 and March 1877. |
